While there is no specific method for cleaning these beautiful medieval hall houses with timber frames, there are some simple tips which can make cleaning it a bit easier. Here are how to easily of cleaning your Wealden hall house:

First of all, if you are using your Wealden hall house as a guest house, then it is a good idea to hire professional regular cleaning services to come and give the house a deep cleaning after the guests have left and before the new ones arrive.

Many owners of such guest houses have posted their requirements for their guests to leave the house in a certain condition, which is part of the conditions for staying in these beautiful houses. These requirements can include: removing the bed linen and pillow cases, cleaning out the fridge and kitchen cupboards out of the foodstuff and other products brought by the guests, removing all towels, taking the garbage outside, etc.

Of course, you may prefer to do the cleaning up yourself, which may cost the customers more but they will be relieved of the burden to spend their last day of their vacation cleaning your property.

It is a good idea to always deep clean the bathroom and the kitchen after guests, or if you are using the hall house as your own home. Do it at least once a month.

  • Deep cleaning the bathroom means removing all items from all surfaces and cleaning the sink, toilet seat, lid and bowl, all shelves, the shower doors, the bathtub and all faucets. Use a glass cleaner, a multi-surface cleaner or a water and vinegar solution to spray the walls, the shower doors, the tiles and grout.
  • Vinegar is an excellent natural disinfectant and helps dissolve the soap residue and grime. Do not use vinegar for marble or granite floors because its acidity can damage the surface of your marble or granite floors and other surfaces.

  • Deep cleaning of the kitchen means taking out the stuff from the cupboards and fridge and cleaning them inside and out. A deep cleaning of the oven, microwave and other kitchen appliances is also part of the job.

For regular cleaning of your Wealden hall house, you should sweep the visible dirt and residue from the floor, dust any surfaces which look dusty and pick up any clutter. Vacuum and mop at least once a week. Dusting the surfaces should also be performed once a week.

The best tip is to create your weekly cleaning schedule, and distribute all tasks evenly, so you don’t need to do the cleaning at once.
